What the hell is happening? That's what I want to say, every minute of the day. But it's a lie, it's a trick my mind tries to play on my mouth, because I know exactly what is happening. While I watch my home country descend into chaos and authoritarianism under Trump’s stolen power, England is drowning in strategically engineered xenophobia, under the guidance of the ironically named Reform party. Everywhere I look there’s a fight, fear for the future and uncertainty. It’s not how most of us would choose to live, if we were ever given the choice in the first place.

I wanted to share a bit about why I’ve chosen the title Samizdat: A Love Letter for my upcoming book. I seem to have a talent for choosing ambiguous book titles! My first book was called The Lemay Leveller (published by Completely Novel in 2015), and many people found that confusing. For me it was straight forward but I was at an advantage, being its author.
